I am a teacher. I love to experience things. I love to learn. I love telling others what I have learned. I enjoy learning the framework of skills so I can fill it with my imagination. I enjoy pushing the boundaries. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to do something. I believe there is a safe way. I believe in doing things without malice. I believe we are being continuously pushed to move forward through life. I like to be the one helping that process.
When I was in middle school, after many years of mathematics courses, I eventually asked my teacher, "why do we need to learn all this complex math"? My father did not do algebra daily at his job, nor did my mother. No one I knew was graphing linear equations to bring home food to put on the table. But in a curious moment within an environment of little curiosity, my teacher gave me an answer that changed my mindset. He said, "because it's the way we think." He went on to explain that we are exercising the brain, creating the ability to process more complex thoughts and solving an actual daily problem quicker. Did I go on to dedicate my time to become the next mathematician? No, but my perception changed.
Hugh Mann Development creates strategies to coach the who, what, when where, why, and how of daily life to overcome insecurity & achieve personal or professional goals. This intent comes from the lessons of this teacher. We will always need coaches, teachers, role models, and mentors, but we are responsible for what we do with our minds. Learn & share with the world. Understand what the world needs & teach that until your last breath.
I hope I can help you move forward in life, so you can pay it forward to someone else.
